BAHS is an organization with a simple mission: produce live blues music events that promote the collection and distribution of non-perishable food to the hungry while supporting, promoting and preserving the blues in the communities we serve. Unfortunately, in the current Pandemic conditions globally, all opportunities to gather together to celebrate blues have ceased. We can not continue our mission without blues.
For this reason, we ask you to join us on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 from 10AM to 6PM as we gather together LIVE online from the comfort of our homes to celebrate the blues and continue to fight to end hunger, with your help. SIXX AND SWEET PACK
The founders of Blues Against Hunger Society, Inc. A husband and wife team; Rachel Pack, known as "Sweet" and her husband Sixx. They have a combined 50+ years of experience in producing and marketing events, seminars, tours, fundraisers and festivals. Sixx was a magazine and newspaper publisher, syndicated radio talk show host, and concert promoter to name a few of his past professions, and Sweet was a activities director, video host, and professional fitness trainer and competitor. They met and fell in love in 2001, married in 2003, retired to Mexico in 2005, lost everything in 2008, and have since tried to make every moment make a difference. Kid Ramos - Los Angeles, CA
An American electric blues and blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. Ramos has released four solo albums since 1995 on Black Top and Evidence Records. He has worked with James Harman, Roomful of Blues, the Big Rhythm Combo, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Mannish Boys, Bobby Jones and Los Fabulocos.
After playing at the parties of friends and at local nightclubs in his teenage years, he turned fully professional when joining James Harman's band in 1980. He stayed playing his guitar for Harman until 1988, when he briefly helped out with Roomful of Blues. In 1994, Ramos joined forces with Lynwood Slim to form the Big Rhythm Combo. Ramos' debut solo album, Two Hands One Heart, was released the following year. Ramos had joined The Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1993.
In August 2012, Ramos was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and underwent chemotherapy treatment the following month. Kid Ramos received the Orange County Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award on March 7, 2014. At the event he announced that he had completed his treatment and recovered from the cancer.
Tom Chapin - Hudson Valley, NY
An American musician, entertainer, singer-songwriter, storyteller and 3 time Grammy Award winner. From 1971 to 1976, Chapin hosted Make a Wish, a Sunday-morning TV series broadcast on ABC. He has appeared in the Broadway production Pump Boys and Dinettes, among others and as storyteller was a Featured New Voices Teller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
He is married to Bonnie Chapin (née Broecker), former wife of film director Wes Craven. His daughters and step daughter are musicians, as well (the Chapin Sisters). He is also the fifth cousin of country music singer Mary Chapin Carpenter.
In April 2008, Chapin appeared at the New York State United Teachers' Convention, where he sang his song "Not on the Test" for delegates in support of the importance of arts and music education in the age of No Child Left Behind.
Chapin continues support of WhyHunger (formerly World Hunger Year), a nonprofit organization co founded by his brother Harry Chapin. He sits on their board of directors.
Rio Samaya Band - Vancouver, Canada
Based in Vancouver, the Rio Samaya Band is made up of Pancho and Sal, partners in life as well as in music, which is full of wonderfully enchanting Latin rhythms and romantic melodies in Spanish including Italian, English and French songs. With a style that flows through the folkloric traditions of Central and South America, Rio Samaya music beats to the natural pulse of our planet, writing and blending it with elements of folk, rock, country, reggae, Latin and rhumba gypsy rhythms. Pancho is born in Argentina and Sal is born in England, together they create a vortex of energy, love, and happiness that can be experienced in their live presentation.
Vocalist ~ Educator ~ Author ~ Creativity Consultant - Long regarded one of Southern California's finest jazz vocalists, Karen Gallinger (gal- in- jur) is a performer who blends artistic passion and mastery of her craft into a dynamic and unique package. Her original sense of humor and "casual hipness" (Jazz Now) combine with her interpretive abilities to give her an artistic range that is "stylish and sultry"(O.C. Register) as well as "simply fun and irresistible”(L.A. Weekly)
Twin sisters having fun and trying to bring a little happiness to the world. Pam Pilkinton Anderson and Pat Pilkinton Norris from Louisiana are going viral. They perform together as the Chillbillie Twins and now have become a viral sensation after writing and recording “Corona Virus Blues,” a song in which they lament not being able to find toilet paper, hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes, among other things. It doesn’t hurt that the song is also super catchy — again, in a good way.
Soy Lola - Tijuana, BC
Olga Pérez Sandoval known as SOY LOLA. Olga's musical career didn’t get started until the beginning of 2004 when she entered another school, this time the School of Music of Tijuana to study drums, since then she has played with bands like Tijuana Blues Band, Beatlemex, Blue Billie Blame, Manuel Delgadillo and his Rhythm & Blues band, TjMex rhythm & blues project. She also played in TJ Funk a project with representatives of the city of Tijuana headed by guitarist Javier Batiz.
Additionally, SOY LOLA is the founder of a cultural movement called Blues & Fronterizo and performing blues on her Thursday Jam that has been going on consecutively for four years and 194 shows! Soy Lola dubbed Queen of Blues North has brought together local musicians for blues to share the joy of making music. She was the inspiration for a film project called SOULS OF BLUES.
Bobby Tee - San Felipe Mexico
Bobby Tee a professional Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with over 30 years of experience. Bobby Tee has toured in Europe in the late '80s and '90s with various groups. He is the former founder and producer of Lazy Dog Records and EuroConnect Recording Studios. He has performed live throughout Europe and his band Bobby Tee & Company has opened up for Motorhead, Alvin Lee of Ten Years After and others.
He currently lives is a pastor of a community church in San Felipe, Baja California Mexico, and is spreading his love of the Word and blues. Busy most Sunday's with church duties, he also performs at various venues in the beach area with the band his band "Bobby Tee & Company" and others.
He recently performed as the front-man of Rock Soul at the First Annual Blues Against Hunger Festival and a Blues Against Hunger Jamboree in Rosarito, Mexico.
Black Market III - San Diego
Nominated for their 9th San Diego Music Award in 2020! "No pigeon holing this band--Blues and American Roots firmly planted, yet not like anything you've heard or seen before. The band prides itself on it's ability to perform diversely and dynamically, playing full blown concerts to small 'stripped down' semi-acoustic shows, traditional blues to their trademarked ‘Grease Punk’ sound."
Coming off their busiest year to date, including relentless festival and club touring throughout the U.S. and Europe and releasing their debut CD "Dashboard Jesus" on Rip Cat Records, Black Market III is planning ahead for the new decade. With "Dashboard Jesus" debuting at #25 and the hit single "Daddy Rollin' Stone" reaching #4 on the Roots Music Report’s Top 50 in December of 2018, as well as a nomination by the San Diego Music Awards for "BEST BLUES ALBUM", extensive touring is again on the agenda for the trio in 2020.
BMIII crossed the 1000 show mark since it's formation in September of 2011, electrifying audiences throughout 12 countries with their diversity and originality. They have been recognized in their hometown of San Diego, nationally, and internationally with many award nominations in the Blues and Rock categories, being named "Rock Band of the Year" by IMP Radio in New Zealand, and among the "Bands To Watch".

Mystic Daze is a ragtag herd of musicians steeped in Blues and Rock since the 60s...performing Country Blues, Chicago Blues, classic Rock and originals and having fun while they do it!
G-Man on drums, Joel Bolado on bass and guitar, George Gagarin on keyboards, and Andrew Gallaher on guitar, vocals, and harmonica...sometimes included are Sleepy Flores and Hernan Orozco on sax, Daniel Salas on guitar, and Harry Magalong on bass..
Chickenbone Slim - San Diego, CA
Chickenbone Slim is an original blues artist from San Diego, CA. with 30 years of music experience, first as a bassist, and since 2011 as a guitarist, vocalist and bandleader. Chickenbone plays original and traditional electric blues, born in the middle of the last century. By mixing original blues and swing music with traditional covers.
Chickenbone’s shows are varied, entertaining and dance friendly. CB is always experimenting and improvising new material as well as catering to his mission to entertain his audience. His talented band known as “The Biscuits” is made up of top local and touring San Diego blues musicians, and his newest release Sleeper is available
LISA CEE - New Orleans
Singing since the age of 4, Lisa discovered her passion early on. Born into a multi-talented, creative family, she was poised from the very beginning to follow her dreams. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a double degree in Voice/Musical Theatre, Lisa decided to pursue not only theatre, but starting her own band.
Lisa Cee’s love of music is evoked via the pure passion and soul she infuses into her singing; she takes her audience soaring with her until the very last note is played. Lisa believes that soul is the CORE of music. She insists that “many people can ‘sing’, but to feel the music and words and convey that to people is all SOUL”.
Since 2008, Lisa Cee has been the leader of the house band for the prestigious Gibson Guitar Lodge at the renowned Sundance Film Festival. This has afforded her the opportunity of playing with some of the most prolific musical stars – the remaining members of The Doors, Billy Gibbons (Z.Z. Top), Sting, John Legend, Train, and many more.
She has also had the honor of sharing the stage with Johnny Mastro and The Mama’s Boys, J.J. Bad Boy Jones, Canned Heat, Marcia Ball, John Lee Hooker Jr., Kid Ramos, Rod Piazza, Tinsley Ellis, Miss Mickey Champion, Robert Lucas, Kirk Fletcher, Paul Oscher, R.J. Misho, Paul DeLay and a plethora of additional amazing musicians.
Miguel Korsa - Mexico City, MX
A Mexican blues guitarist from Mexico City, Mexico City Chapter Director for Blues Against Hunger.Society. Miguel has been a guest performer at NAMM the last two years, and each time he's landed in Tijuana he would join Baja Blues Against at a Jamboree or Tour.
Born in 1987 - Miguel has been playing and composing music for over 15 years. He has collaborated with many artists: José Manuel Aguilera (La Barranca), El Mastuerzo (Botellita de Jeréz), Toño Lira (Liran Roll), Sixx Pack (Sweet Sixx), Olga Perez (Hola soy Lola), Javier Batiz, Ernesto Castillo (Napoleón),Mi Banda El Mexicano, Arturo Meza, Rafael Catana, Armando Palomas, Fernando Rivera Calderón, among others.Read More About Miguel Korsa
José Cruz Camargo Zurita - MexiCo City
From a very young age he specialized in the execution of the harmonica, reaching virtuosity. his first composition, a blues in minor tones, was called "Mesticia"; in the late 1970s he traveled to Austin, Texas where accompanied the blues player Mr. “O”, playing the harmonica, being this experience which marked his path and reinforced his con-viccion of composing and playing blues. He started as a soloist playing in the rocks, he created blues in Spanish when it was thought that it was only possible to do it inglés because it was the historical result of the merger of different music, therefore there is no so-called "pure blues".
SAUCE BOSS - Florida
Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton has brought his swamp-funk, slide guitar-one-man band, and a pot of gumbo all across the US and to Canada, Europe, and Asia. Sauce Boss cooks gumbo while performing; serving up bowls to the audience at the end of the shows. He has served well over 200,000 people for free at his legendary live shows.
Sauce Boss is the guy Jimmy Buffett sings about in "I Will Play for Gumbo". Wharton’s blues anthem, "Let the Big Dog Eat", has been covered by many, including Albert Castiglia. His version was #1 on the Roots Music Report for twelve weeks. The tune was also in Jonathan Demme's movie "Something Wild". Now, Bill’s music will be featured throughout the soundtrack in the documentary, “Jimmy Carter - Rock and Roll President”, debuting early in 2020.
Michele Lundeen - San Diego
Often described as "Janis Joplin meets Bonnie Raitt", a powerful, soulful vocalist. She effortlessly blends classic roadhouse rhythm & blues, jump swing, Memphis groove, sultry jazz, and funky soul into a satisfying musical stew. An established, popular and respected veteran that has shared stages with artists from John Lee Hooker to Elvin Bishop and Savoy Brown to Queen Ida.. She has won the coveted title of San Diego Blues Challenge winners and represented at the Blues Foundation’s
International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, TN. She is a 12x San Diego Music Awards “Best Blues” Nominee and her CD, Song Inside Me, was also one of the Final Four "Best Self-Produced Albums" at IBC.

Our mission is to produce live blues events that encourage the collection and distribution of food and basic human needs. We now have weekly food drive Jamborees in multiple cities in multiple countries. We are feeding thousands and growing.
