This is a community jam — supportive, relaxed, and welcoming to all skill levels.
The LOVE JAM — Roots to Riddim is a host-led community jam, not an open mic or free-for-all stage. Sweet Sixx serves as the house band, guiding the music and inviting musicians to sit in throughout the event.
All musicians are encouraged to sign up to jam. Some players may simply strum along, others may solo, and some may sing and lead songs. In many cases, songs are chosen based on who is comfortable leading vocally, which helps keep the jam flowing naturally and keeps the music accessible to everyone on stage.
Most of the music centers around simple, “jammable” grooves — blues progressions, reggae riddim patterns, folk rhythms, and Latin-influenced feels — the kinds of songs musicians can quickly join without rehearsal.
Musicians don’t need to prepare a set — just bring an instrument, listen, and join when invited. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s shared music in the moment.
Over the years, these jams have included first-time players, seasoned performers, and even Grammy-winning musicians, all playing together in the same circle.
Because the Love Jam isn’t about performance — it’s about connection, groove, and community.
